THIS IS THE STORY OF OUR LAND AND HOUSE IN IDAHO WHEN I FINALLY RETIRE. THIS WILL BE A STORY OF THE PREPARATION AND STEPS WE ARE TAKING TO GET THE LAND READY FOR OUR NEW HOUSE.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: This entire project is the result of a number of people mostly family members. My brother Jay was kind enough to sell us the property for a very reasonable amount. My brother Glade who worked tiredlessly on the property with burning the old house down and clean up. He also arranged for other projects to be completed when we could not be there. My sister Lois and husband Richard who welcomed us into their home for days on end while we were up there working on the property. The great meals, and all they offered us from rides, to the use of equipment and assisting with anything they could provide. Dana and I thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
FOR THE TIME BEING HERE IS HOME: This is really very nice and plenty of room for the time. We both know that the time will fly by, and we will be building the house before long. This fifth wheel is great even has a fireplace which we will need in Idaho.

Snow in Arizona: This is to prepare Dana for the Idaho weather. Plus it is nice that the 5th wheel has a fireplace for days like this.

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE DREAM AND THE MANY STEPS:
This is a place in time where Dana and I can retire and enjoy peace and tranquility. Work on the house, plant a huge garden, grow all types of plants and flowers.
This is a story of our lives… Separate and together forever. In mind bending jail here in Arizona…..escaping soooooon to Idaho where we are planning to live the rest of our lives. Build a home, raise a chicken, pig, and a couple of dogs. Shoot air rifles out the back porch, ride the four wheeler, plant a garden, kick the pig, and enjoy life.
Live the stress free farm life.

what it looked like 3 years ago. Over grown the trees and weeds

30 to 40 years since anyone had lived in the house.
We purchased this land a few years ago from my brother Jay. It had an old home stead house which was in very poor condition.
In April 2 years ago Dana and I went there, and with the help of my brother Glade and others we burned down the old home and cut down all the old over grown trees. In April 2010 we arrived in Idaho to burn and clean the property up. This was a large project with the old house and huge trees on the property. My brother had prepared the house to a certain extent to burn. I was able to obtain a permit to burn the house so it was not like we were committing a felony or even a petty problem in burning it down. As the Fire Chief said it was a house that contained mice and other rats that might have disease, so burning it was a good thing. So in April 2010 we burned the house down and got rid of all the old ugly trees.

Burning GOOD now!!!!! Ya by hell I think it is going to burn down.

Cutting down all the old trees so they could be pushed into the fire.
The house and most of the trees burned, Glade assisted with cleaning a lot of the garbage that was left by the fire. I hired Gary Cahoon who owns heavy equipment and he cleaned the rest of the property. Here a picture of the property almost cleaned up and looking great.

The view from our property is great, remember this is early spring so not to green, but just a wonderful place to live.

Last April 2012 Dana’s sister (Sue) and her husband Don came to see the property. They were visiting Don’s sister Lennie who is on the far right.

This is a view to the west. This is a view to the east.
Gary Cahoon with the assistance of Glade developed the spring which is about 700 yards up the hill from the property. They put in a 2500 gallon holding tank and the water will gravity flow to the house.
This last spring 2012 Dana and I went up to the land to get the water piped down to the property. This was a long 2 days of work and thanks again to Glade for all his help. Here is a couple of picture of Gary Cahoon’s equipment as we get the water down to the land.
